IELTS Writing Task 1 - Academic (Graph/Chart/Diagram): Ethanol Fuel Production

Task 1 The process of producing ethanol fuel from corn follows a linear, nine-step sequence. It begins with the delivery of raw corn, which is immediately kept in storage. Following this initial stage, the corn is milled into a fine texture to prepare it for the cooking phase. During cooking, water is added to the mixture, and it is heated for a duration of four hours. The resulting substance then undergoes fermentation, a chemical breakdown that lasts for 48 hours. Once fermented, the mixture moves to the separating stage, where it is split into two distinct outputs: a liquid base and a solid by-product. The liquid portion is then subjected to a five-hour purification process to refine the ethanol. In the penultimate stage, the finished ethanol fuel is stored in tanks before it is finally transported for delivery and distribution.
